I’ve lived in Oceanside my whole life, and to be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of doing sessions at the pier. They can feel overdone, predictable—even a little tacky if I’m being honest lol! But this photoshoot at the Oceanside Pier? It was different. It felt creative, natural, and perfectly fitting for Kaleigh and Ciara, who live right by the beach and are locals too.

We started at the pier, leaning into the mix of structure and ocean views, capturing the movement of the waves and the golden, coastal light. We started at the beginning of the pier and played around with the Tower Viewers, and then found a cute bench.

As the sun started to set, we wandered down the Strand, stopping by the little pink houses at the north end. The pastel tones, the salty air, and the quiet rhythm of the beach at golden hour all came together to make the perfect, laid-back ending to their session.

This session reminded me that even the most familiar locations can feel fresh with the right approach. Photoshoots at the Oceanside Pier don’t have to be cliché—they can be personal, artistic, and true to the people in them.
