There’s something really special about photographing a family in their own space—especially when it’s a space they’ve poured their hearts into. For Katie and Mike, their home and garden are more than just a backdrop—they’re a reflection of the life they’ve built together.
This was their first family photo session since welcoming their baby six months ago, and they wanted it to feel real. Nothing overly posed or styled—just an honest reflection of their everyday life. They snuggled in the garden, ate homegrown strawberries, picked lemons from the tree, watered the lavender, and played on the swing while their sweet family dog tagged along every step of the way.
The beauty of photographing a family at home is that everything is familiar. There’s no pressure to perform or be on. It’s easier to focus on each other, to slow down and be present. That’s exactly what this session was—unhurried, quiet in the best way, and full of heart.
Katie and Mike wanted to romanticize their home life a bit, and I love that. Because even in the chaos and the daily routine, there’s something deeply beautiful about being in your own space with the people you love most.
These photos are more than just images—they’re a visual love letter to this fleeting season. Their garden, their arms full, the way they looked at each other and at their baby. This session was soft, rich, and rooted in what matters most: home, connection, and love.
