As a family photographer in North County, I’ve found a few favorite spots that bring out the best in every season, and this fall is no exception. Here are some top locations for fall family photos in San Diego.

1. Batiquitos Lagoon Trail – Carlsbad

For families who love a natural backdrop, Batiquitos Lagoon Trail offers coastal charm mixed with soft, organic scenery. The paths here are lined with subtle greenery, tall grass, and glimpses of the lagoon, making it ideal for those looking to keep the focus on the family with just a touch of nature in the background—a great combo for laid-back, candid shots.

2. San Dieguito County Park – Del Mar

San Dieguito County Park has wide-open spaces, tall trees, and that rustic vibe that brings a subtle autumn feel without being overly “fall.” This location offers plenty of room for the littles to roam while still feeling tucked into nature.
