Oceanside family photos – with a vibe!!!!

Lizzy and Billy showed up to the harbor with their two girls — 20 months and 8 months — and just set up their whole vibey situation. The red cooler, beach chairs, a foam board, umbrella, neon green ball, the works. The beach was quite literally packed, it looked like the 4th of July out there, and not gunna lie, I was nervous because it was insane!!!! But truly none of that mattered. Once we set up shop, it’s like the entire beach somehow faded into the background. Their stuff, their kids, their afternoon. That’s the whole point of a storytelling session and this one was a perfect example of why I love them.

We started at 6 instead of 7 because bedtime is a real thing when you have two under two, which was the right call — the light was still beautiful and the girls were still happy, which is everything IYKYK. The older one was running the show, the baby was doing baby things, and by the time we got to the water at golden hour the whole session had this loose, end-of-summer-day energy that came through in every frame.

This is what I mean when I say that I want to tell YOUR story. Bring the cooler, bring the foam board, bring the bell peppers and raspberries for the kiddos, bring whatever makes a weekend at the beach feel like yours — that’s the whole point!
