Family photos in Fallbrook don’t come up often on my radar, which is exactly why this session is a favorite. Summer and Morgan are clients I’ve had the privilege of photographing since their wedding back in 2020, and somewhere in between then and now they added twin boys to the mix. These two work hard, live well, and are genuinely one of the coolest and happiest families I’ve ever worked with.
Fallbrook’s downtown has this quiet, historic character that photographs really well. We moved through the streets — brick walls, storefronts, a dusty pink building — and the boys, almost two and fully in their own world, kept everything fun and moving.
Since Morgan is from Fallbrook and knows every corner of it, the session had this local, unhurried energy that you can’t manufacture when you’re shooting somewhere new. We weren’t hunting for good spots — we just bopped around downtown and let it unfold.
We finished at the skate park, which was such a good call. The concrete bowls, the warm golden light coming in — it was such a vibey ending to the session.
Fallbrook is one of those North County San Diego towns that tends to fly under the radar for photography, but it’s worth paying attention to. If you live there and want photos that actually feel like where you’re from, shooting in your own town will always beat a generic location. You can learn more about downtown Fallbrook if you’re curious about the area.
Summer and Morgan — you’ve built something really beautiful. Can’t wait to keep documenting it!!!
